Trekking in Transylvania

On this Trekking experience, the group spent 13 days walking the beautiful Romanian country side and interacting with the local rural culture. The group was first based in the Sinaia, an area known as the “Pearl of the Carpathians” where they spent three days hiking.  Next on their itinerary was Balea, hiking the ridge of the Fagaras Mountains and Sighisoara in the Transylvania providence.   The group also hiked around Vata Bai, an area known for its resorts and spas.   The group concluded their tour in Budapest with a guided walking tour of the city.  Highlights included: evening lectures, visiting the local Roma (gypsies) population in their homes, a service project with a local orphanage, as well as hiking through the breathtaking mountains of Romania.

Hola Argentina!

A Friends of Art group explored the magnificent country of Argentina with its rich diversity of natural wonders and one of the most magnificent cities in the world, Buenos Aires! The group wandered the charming and distinct neighborhoods, grand boulevards, parks and museums of the city.  Participants took tango lessons and met
local artists.  A day was allocated for an Estancia tour, with a barbecue lunch including folkloric and gaucho shows.   At Iguazu Falls, the group experienced a falls three times the size of Niagara Falls set in the jungle on the border between Argentina and Brazil.   The group concluded their tour by traveling to view the great Andes Mountains and the charming city of Mendoza where famous Argentina wineries were visited. Other highlights included: visits to art museums, watching a tango show, and a Tigre River tour.

Men’s Soccer Team Tour of Belfast and London

This college men’s soccer team including 24 players and four coaches spent eight days touring the sites and participating in soccer matches in Belfast and London.  In Belfast the group experienced a tour of the city, including Trinity College, Croke Park and the Guinness Storehouse while also participating in several soccer games arranged by the coaches.  The team also had the opportunity to roam the city of London to see and experience the historic city and also watched a local "football" game.   A highlight for the team was interacting with opposing teams in Ireland and having the opportunity to socialize with them off of the soccer field.
